Eatonville Wall Mural Installation Service

The short answer

We install printed wall murals in Eatonville homes. We help with sizing and bleed before you order, prepare older plaster or textured walls to be smooth, and hang every panel in order so the picture flows without visible breaks.

A printed wall mural can turn one ordinary wall into a scene, whether that is a lush jungle for a child's room, a soft cloudscape over a bed, a city skyline in a home office or a piece of art reproduced at full scale. In Eatonville, roughly 11 miles north of our Orlando base, we install murals in homes of all sizes, including many single-story concrete block houses with compact rooms. A mural on one wall of a small room can make it feel much larger, as long as the image is sized correctly and the panels line up perfectly. This page explains how we get a mural from box to wall, what to check before ordering and how to handle older surfaces.

Why murals suit smaller homes

Murals have a way of opening up a space. A landscape with a distant horizon gives the eye somewhere to travel, which can make a modest bedroom or living room feel deeper. A sky or forest scene on the wall behind a bed creates a sense of being outdoors. Because the image covers only one wall, the rest of the room can stay calm and painted.

In many Eatonville homes, rooms are cozy and ceilings are standard height. We often suggest murals with lighter backgrounds and open compositions for these spaces, and saving darker, denser scenes for larger rooms or for a single dramatic powder room.

  • Landscapes with horizons to add depth
  • Sky and cloud scenes for bedrooms and ceilings
  • Illustrated themes and maps for playrooms
  • Abstract washes of color for living spaces

Sizing and ordering correctly

The most common mural problem is a print that is too small. Measure the wall's width at the top, middle and bottom, and its height at the left, center and right. Use the largest numbers, then add a few inches of bleed on every edge. That extra lets us trim the image to walls and ceilings that are not perfectly straight, which is typical in older block homes.

Before you order, send us the dimensions and the image. We will tell you where the panel seams fall and where outlets, switches, windows or doors will cut into the picture. Small shifts in placement can keep an important element from being lost.

Smooth walls make sharp images

Murals often contain large areas of smooth color and fine detail, and both show every bump and crack underneath. Plaster over block in older homes may be uneven or show hairline cracks. Drywall in renovated rooms may carry orange-peel or knockdown texture.

We fill cracks, sand patches, and skim-coat textured walls when needed. Then we roll on a wallcovering primer so the paste bonds evenly. If there is old wallpaper painted over, we remove it first; otherwise the moisture from new paste can make the old layer bubble and ruin the mural above it.

Hanging the panels

Panels are laid out in order and checked for image match before anything is pasted. This catches printing errors and mix-ups while they can still be fixed. We then establish a true vertical line for the first panel instead of trusting the corner, because older corners are rarely plumb.

Each panel is hung, aligned to the previous one by the image itself, and smoothed from the center outward with a soft tool to protect the print. Seams are butted tight. We trim the top and bottom with fresh blades, cut neatly around switches and outlets, and wipe away any paste right away so it does not dry on the surface.

Most single-wall murals take a day including prep. Larger murals, ceiling installs or walls that need significant skim-coating can take longer.

Materials and Central Florida weather

Hot, humid summers with afternoon storms most days from June through September test any wallcovering. Nonwoven paste-the-wall murals and vinyl-coated murals hold up best in these conditions. Peel-and-stick murals are convenient for renters or short-term rooms, but in humid air their edges can lift, and they do not grip well on textured surfaces.

Keep the air conditioning running steadily after installation so the adhesive cures evenly. Vinyl-faced murals can be wiped gently with a damp cloth. Uncoated paper murals should be dusted only.

What to expect

How a visit goes

  1. Honest prep advice

If your wall has glossy paint, torn drywall facing or a lingering moisture problem, we say so before work starts and suggest the fix that makes sense for that surface.

  2. Patterns that line up

We plot where the repeat falls at eye level and in corners, so the match holds across the whole room instead of drifting by the last strip.

  3. A tidy work area

Drop cloths go down first, scraps leave with us, and paste residue is sponged off trim and ceilings before we call the job done.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (561) 944-3314 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you install a mural I already bought?

Yes. We check panel numbering and dimensions when you have it, and confirm the fit before installation day.

Does my wall need to be smooth?

For the sharpest result, yes. We skim-coat textured walls and repair cracks before hanging a mural.

How much extra size should I order?

Add a few inches of bleed on every side so we can trim to uneven walls and ceilings.

Are peel-and-stick murals worth it?

They suit small, smooth walls and short-term rooms. For humid homes and larger walls, pasted murals last better.

Can a mural be put on a ceiling?

Yes. Ceiling murals take longer and need stable air conditioning while the paste cures.

Will a mural make my small room look smaller?

Usually the opposite. Open, light scenes with a horizon can make a compact room feel deeper.
